베드로전서 1-3장 말씀 묵상

Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls. (베드로전서 1장 8-9절)

'믿음'은, 생각해보면 신앙적인 측면에서의 믿음이 아닌, 사람 간의 믿음도 보지 않아도 믿는 것이다. 그 사람을 신뢰하는 것이다. 다 보고, 다 알고 믿는다면 그건 믿음이 아니라 감시가 아닐까. 보이지 않는 것을 믿고, 그에 기반해서 행동하고 결정하기 때문에 믿음은 믿음인 것이다.

As you come to him, the living Stone-rejected by men but chosen by God and precious to him- you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. For in Scripture it says: 'See, I lay a stone in Zion, a chosen and precious cornerstone, and the one who trusts in him will never be put to shame.' Now to you who believe, this stone is precious. But to those who do not believe, 'The stone the builders rejected has become the capstone,' and, 'A stone that causes men to stumble and a rock that makes them fall.' They stumble because they disobey the message-which is also what they were destined for.(베드로전서 2장 4-8절)

 

Living Stone에 대해서 크게 생각했던 적이 없다. 이번 주 아침 예배 중에 목사님께서 그에 대한 언급을 해주실 때까지는. 그런데 이제 living stone은 내가 힘들 때마다 하나님을 붙들 수 있는 연결고리가 될 수 있을 듯하다. 세상은 돌로 여기는, 하찮케 여기지만 하나님께서 귀하게 들어 쓰시는 존재. 현실에서 돌은 무생물이지만 하나님은 그 돌을 살아있게 쓰시는 존재. 나를 보는 하나님의 마음이 그렇다는 것을 항상 기억해야 한다. 그걸 기억하며 순간, 순간을 살아내야 한다. 

Finally, all of you, live in harmony with one another; be sympathetic, love as brothers, be compassionate and humble. (베드로전서 3장 8절)

기독교의 핵심은 사랑이다. 서로를 아끼고 소중하게 여기는 것이다. 다른 교회에 대해서, 교회 구성원에 대해서 부정적인 말을 하려고 하기 전에, 교회적인 차원의 의사결정을 하기 전에 이것만 생각하고 기억하더라도 지금의 한국교회가 이렇게 바닥이 아니지 않을까. 그런 생각을 해본다. 

But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander. (베드로전서 3장 15-16절)

복음을 전할 준비는 항상 되어있고, 내 마음에 하나님과 복음에 대한 내용이 정리되어 있어야 한다. 하지만 그 전하는 방법도 부드럽고 정중해야 한다고 성경은 명시하고 있다. 상대를 존중하면서 이뤄져야 한다고. 이 사실을 망각하고 사는 사람들이 너무 많다.
