창세기 42-47장 말씀 묵상

Then he remembered his dreams about them and said to them, 'You are spies! You have come to see where our land is unprotected.'...And this is how you will be tested: As surely as Pharaoh lives, you will not leave this place unless your youngest brother comes here. (창세기 42장 9, 15절)

요셉은 애굽 땅에서 오랜 시간을 보냈음에도 불구하고 하나님께서 보여주신 꿈을 잊지 않고 있었다. 우린 하나님께서 주신 마음을 얼마나 기억하고, 마음에 품고 살고 있을까? 지금 당장 눈 앞의 현실로 인해서 하나님께서 보여주신 것이 허상이라고, 이뤄지지 않을 것이라고 생각하며 살고 있진 않은가?

그리고 요셉은 베냐민에 대한 마음이 애틋하다. 그건 이 부분에서도 보이지만 그 후에 나오는 예들에서도 보인다. 혹자는 자신과 어머니까지 같은 형제라고 그래도 되냐고 시비를 걸 수 있는 부분이다. 하지만 그건 인간이 가진 한계일 것이며, 인간이 완벽할 수 없다는 것을 보여준다.

우리는 우리가 완벽할 수 없는 부분과 완벽을 추구해야 할 부분을 잘 구분해야 한다. 전자의 경우에 대해서는 스스로를 용서하고 있는 그대로 받아들여줘야 하고 후자에 대해서는 채찍질하며 매일, 매일 가다듬어야 한다. 

Then their father Israel said to them, 'If it must be, then do this: Put some of the best products of the land in your bags and take them down to the man as a gift-a little balm and a little honey, some spices and myrrh, some pistachio nuts and almonds. Take double the amount of silver with you, for you must return the silver that was put back into the mouths of your sacks. Perhaps it was a mistake. Take your brother also and go back to the man at once. And may God Almighty grant you mercy before the man so that he will let your other brother and Benjamin come back with you. As for me, if I am bereaved, I am bereaved.' (창세기 43장 11-14절)

야곱은 하나님께 믿고 맡기면서도 자신이 가진 것을 갖고 최선을 다한다. 이 모습에서 오늘 유난히 그 모습이 눈에 띈다. 우리도, 그래야 할 것이다.
