사무엘상 24-31장 말씀 묵상

May the LORD judge between you and me. And may the LORD avenge the wrongs you have done to me, but my hand will not touch you...You have just now told me of the good you did to me; the LORD delivered me into your hands, but you did not kill me...But David thought to himself, 'One of these days I will be destroyed by the hand of Saul. The best thing I can do is to escape to the land of the Philistines. Then Saul will give up searching for me anywhere in Israel, and I will slip out of his hand.' (사무엘상 24장 18절 / 27장 1절)

사울은 몇 번이나 돌이킬 기회가 있었다. 그리고 다윗은 사실 사울의 목숨을 취할 기회가 몇 번이나 있었다. 일반의, 보통 사람들의 관점에서 다윗이 했어야 할 가장 합리적이고 이성적인 선택은 사울의 목숨을 취하는 것이었지만 다윗은 그러한 선택을 하지 않았다. 본인이 사울의 미래를 결정하지 않고 하나님께 맡기기로 했다. 일어나야 할 일이었다면, 하나님께서 하실 것이라 믿고, 신뢰하면서. 다윗의 마음을, 믿음을 많이 묵상하게 된다.
