사무엘하 13-18장 말씀 묵상

Absalom behaved in this way toward all the Israelites who came to the king asking for justice, and so he stole the hearts of the men of Israel......A messenger came and told David, 'The hearts of the men of Israel are with Absalom.'......Absalom and all the men of Israel said, 'The advice of Hushai the Arkite is better than that of Ahithophel.' For the LORD had determined to frustrate the good advice of Ahithophel in order to bring disaster on Absalom. (사무엘하 15장 6, 13절 / 사무엘하 17장 14절)

압살롬의 가장 큰 잘못은 무엇이었을까? 자신의 여동생의 복수를 직접 한 것일까? 아니면 왕좌를 차지하려 한 것일까?

그건 아마도 하나님께 나가서, 하나님께 묻고 하나님의 뜻을 따르려 하기보다 본인의 뜻과 의지로 본인의 욕망을 채우려 한 것이 아니었을까 싶다. 그가 하나님을 먼저 찾을 줄 아는 사람이었다면, 그가 자신의 욕구와 욕망보다 하나님을 더 먼저 찾았다면 많은게 달라지지 않았을까?

우리는 때때로 우리에게 좋아보이는 것을 차지하기 위해 우리 생각에 선한 것을 하기 위해 노력한다. 하지만 우리 눈에 좋아보인다고 해서 모든게 다 좋은게 아니다. 항상, 하나님이 우선순위에서 가장 위에 있어야 한다.
