열왕기하 13-17장 말씀 묵상

The LORD warned Israel and Judah through all his prophets and seers: 'Turn from your evil ways. Observe my commands and decrees, in accordance with the entire Law that I commanded your fathers to obey and that I delivered to you through my servants the prophets.' But they would not listen and were as stiff-necked as their fathers, who did not trust in the LORD their God. They rejected his decrees and the covenant he had made with their fathers and the warnings he had given them. They followed worthless idols and themselves became worthless. They imitated the nations around them although the LORD had ordered them, 'Do not do as they do,' and they did the things the LORD had forbidden them to do. (열왕기하 17장 13-15절)

이스라엘 백성들은 모두 하나님의 가르침을 떠났다. 그들의 조상들에게 하나님께서 어떻게 해주셨는지도 기억하지 못하고... 그러면서 그들은 어쩌면 하나님에게서 자신들의 행위를 숨길 수 있다고 생각했던 것 같다. 몰래 그런 행동들을 했다는 것을 보면. 그리고 무엇인가를 몰래했다는 것은 일단 그게 잘못된 것이란 것은 안단 의미다. 이는 이스라엘 백성들이 모르고, 실수로 한 것이 아니란 것을 의미한다. 그들은 자신들이 하는 짓의 의미를 알았다. 

이는 오늘날 교회 다니는 사람들 역시 마찬가지다. 구약시대에는 모든 이들이 글을 읽을 줄 아는 것도 아니고 인쇄술이 발달되어 있지 않아 오늘날 처럼 읽을 수 있는게 없기라도 했지, 몰라서, 오해해서, 잘 몰라서는 우리 시대에 맞지 않는 변명이다. 모든게 다 성경에 나와 있으니까. 

말씀으로 돌아가고, 하나님께서 하신 일들을 기억해야 한다. 항상. 예외없이.
